Aims
- To acquaint the student with the history of Imperial China in its declining years and to encourage the examination of differing analyses of China's history of rebellion, war and revolution that concluded with the formation of the People's Republic in 1949.
Content
- The history of the decline of the Chinese empire under internal and external pressure in the nineteenth century, the republican experiments of the early twentieth century and the rise of Communist China during the war of resistance against Japan.
