Aims
- To acquaint students with the main events of Chinese history since the foundation of the People's Republic in 1949 and to encourage discussion of the different approaches to that history.
Content
- The consolidation of power by the Chinese Communist Party and the emergence of Maoist policies in the Great Leap Forward and Cultural Revolution.The death of Mao and the reform policies of Deng Xiaoping.
