Prerequisites

  • Two years' study of Chinese including one year abroad, or equivalent.

Corequisites

  • Chinese Language III (EAST2092).

Aims

  • To develop intermediate/advanced level speaking, listening and reading skills in modern standard Chinese as required for translating texts and interpreting.

Content

  • The main element is a topic-based module designed to improve language pattern and vocabulary awareness and oral and written expressive skills, in particular interpreting and translation into Chinese.
