Aims
- To develop familiarity with the structure and demands of the National Curriculum within the core subjects.
- It also seeks to develop the role of the STA to support teachers in the classroom and children in their learning.
- The course will introduce students to the: philosophy and practice of Primary Education.
- National Curriculum framework.
- teaching of reading at KS1/2.
- teaching of writing at KS1/2.
- development of language in general including listening and speaking.
- development of mathematics.
- application and development of mathematics and language in science.
- development of all the above in the context of bilingual and monolingual classrooms.
