Aims
- To introduce: performance as a way of thinking about music.
- the development of skills required for performance practice as research.
Content
- Regular lectures, tutorials and performance workshops (seminars) with students, supported by individual instrumental tuition, covering subjects such as repertoire search, rehearsal strategies and current topics concerning performance practice.

- Cconfidence in to addressing the issues related to performance practice.
Key Skills:
- The ability to assess performance critically and to execute ideas appropriately, in preparation for the Recital module available at Level 3.
- To work with other musicians when necessary, demonstrating and evaluating individual and group skills.

Formative Assessment:
Performance presentations and written assignments: both types of Formative Assessment will be conducted and feedbacked with a view to developing a reflective link between theory and performance.
