Aims
- To enable students to deepen their understanding of a wide range of current concepts of archaeological social theory and methodology.
- To enable students to deepen their understanding of theory and method in the context of their area/subject/period studies.
- To enable students to develop their skills in critical analysis and presentation.
Content
- identity; gender and age; ethnicity; status; archaeological landscapes; and other current issues in social archaeology and theory.
Learning Outcomes
- Students will have:
- Developed an understanding of current theory and method through its applicaiton to a range of case studies.
- Developed a critical approach to the collection, analysis and interpretation of archaeological data.
- Gained an understanding of techniques relevant to the analysis of data from specific periods/regions.
