• To enable students to engage different East Asian business systems in a critically informed way which identifies emerging trends and specialised management issues.

Learning Outcomes

• Have a critical appreciation of East Asian regional economic and business dynamics;
• Have an advanced understanding of leading national (Japanese, South Korean, Chinese) business systems.

• Be able to compare and critically evaluate key East Asian business organisational and management preferences;
• Be able to anticipate/predict future developmental trends and issues;
• Be able to engage with problems and opportunities for developing East/West business relationships.

Modes of Teaching, Learning and Assessment and how these contribute to the learning outcomes of the module

• Learning outcomes will be met through a combination of lectures, seminars and guided reading.
• The assessment of the module, by written assignment, is designed to test students' knowledge and understanding of the subject-matter and their ability to apply it to the analysis of specific issues.

Formative Assessment:

Written assignment of 1,500 words maximum
