Aims

  • To enable students to deepen their understanding of a wide range of current concepts of archaeological social theory and methodology.
  • To enable students to deepen their understanding of theory and method in the context of their area/subject/period studies.
  • To enable students to develop their skills in critical analysis and presentation.

Content

  • identity; gender and age; ethnicity; status; archaeological landscapes; and other current issues in social archaeology and theory.

  • Developed a critical approach to the collection, analysis and interpretation of archaeological data.
  • Gained an understanding of techniques relevant to the analysis of data from specific periods/regions.
