Aims
- To provide students with experience of, and confidence in, the execution of business consultancy Industry projects.
Content
- Case Studies of Design and Manufacturing Techniques;
- For full-time students:
- One in-company mini-project (week-long, paired);
- Two in-company industrial projects (two-week, paired).
- For part-time students:
- One in-company mini-project (equivalent length, single);
- Two in-company industrial projects (equivalent length, single).
Learning Outcomes
Subject-specific Knowledge:
- Appreciation of appropriate methodologies in a factory or design office environment;
Subject-specific Skills:
- The ability to plan and manage an investigation of an industrial process or product design;
- The ability to apply the knowledge and skills acquired from the course work;
- The ability to analyse data and recommend solutions appropriate to the industrial tasks;
Key Skills:
- To reffectively communicate the findings of the projects by written reports.
Modes of Teaching, Learning and Assessment and how these contribute to the learning outcomes of the module
- In-Company project learning.
- Oral presentations will be given in-company.
- Students give motivational written report.
