Modes of Teaching, Learning and Assessment and how these contribute to the learning outcomes of the module

  • The student will work in conjuction with his or her specialist teacher in developing a programme of study leading to the performance of two 40-minutes recitals in the public domain (see Learning Outcomes f-l). As in the music profession the majority of work will be as the result on independent study – instrument/voice practice. One-to-one tutorials with the module leader are held regularly to aid the assimilation of subject specific knowledge and skills in particular (a-e). Seminars are student-led (with peer feedback and group discussion) and there will be participation in practical performance workshops (masterclasses) led by visiting performers (a-c, e-k).
