Aims
- The aim of the module is to enable participants to identify and plan outcomes and related measures of success for a change programme and define the means by which they will be achieved.
Content
- Introduction to Benefits Management
- A benefits perspective on the project lifecycle
- Developing the Benefits Plan
- Stakeholder analysis
- Business roles in IS/change projects
Learning Outcomes
Subject-specific Knowledge:
- Have a critical appreciation of a benefit driven framework for the management of a change programme.
- Have a critical appreciation of major success/failure factors for Information Systems initiatives.
Subject-specific Skills:
- Be able to use a range of specialized practices for ensuring strategic alignment of a benefit driven change programme.
- Be able to use a range of specialized practices for planning a benefit driven change programme.

- Consistently apply an advanced level of knowledge and wider intellectual skills in this complex and specialized area of study.

Modes of Teaching, Learning and Assessment and how these contribute to the learning outcomes of the module
- The learning outcomes will be addressed through a combination of lectures, case studies and seminars. The summative assessment by Assignment, is an application of the concepts of benefits planning to a specific IS change programme. It is designed to test both students' conceptual knowledge and understanding, and their ability to apply what they have learned.

Feedback on a draft benefit plan for an IS change programme in the participants organization.
