Aims
- The aim of the module is to enable participants to:
- Apply a range of specialized practices for portfolio management that will enable an organization to manage its investment in change and contribute to the success of individual projects and programmes.
- Critically assess how to implement the framework for change covered on the programme in a specific organization and build the organizational competencies to succeed with change.

Learning Outcomes
Subject-specific Knowledge:
- Explain the framework of the organizational competences required to succeed with IS, and be able to critically assess the current state of the organization, and define priorities for improvement.
- Explain key factors that create an environment in which projects and programmes can succeed.
Subject-specific Skills:
- Apply a range of specialized practices for management of the overall portfolio of change programmes.
- Critically assess the suitability of and apply arrange of practices involved in developing organizational competences for IS/ transformation and be able to plan a programme of improvement.
Key Skills:
- Consistently apply an advanced level of knowledge and wider intellectual skills in this complex and specialized area of study.
- Be adaptable, and show originality, insight, and critical and reflective abilities which can all be brought to bear on unpredictable and problematic situations.
- Critically evaluate and integrate theory and practice, exercising appropriate judgment, in a complex range of situations.
- Be self directed and able to act autonomously in planning and implementing projects at professional levels, taking a high level of responsibility for themselves and others as appropriate.
- Take responsibility for continuing to develop their own knowledge and highly specialized skills.
Modes of Teaching, Learning and Assessment and how these contribute to the learning outcomes of the module
- The learning outcomes will be addressed through a combination of lectures, case studies and seminars. The summative assessment by Assignment, is an organizational review and development of a change programme to establish improved competences for realizing value form IS. It is designed to test both students' conceptual knowledge and understanding, and their ability to apply what they have learned.

Formative Assessment:
Formative assessment will be based on a group exercise and presentation allowing participants to explore the objectives, and contextual issues of programmes to develop the IS capabilities of their organizations.
■ Attendance at all activities marked with this symbol will be monitored. Students who fail to attend these activities, or to complete the summative or formative assessment specified above, will be subject to the procedures defined in the University's General Regulation V, and may be required to leave the University
