Learning Outcomes
Subject-specific Knowledge:
- On completion of the module, students will be able to demonstrate:
- a knowledge of the problems faced in 'real world computing'
- an understanding of the important legal, ethical and moral issues relating to the building and use of computer applications.
Subject-specific Skills:
- On completion of the module, students will be able to demonstrate an ability to plan, organise, manage and implement a large scale software application as part of a team.
Key Skills:
- On completion of the module, students will be able to demonstrate:
- an ability in technical writing, oral presentation and social interaction
- an ability to work with others as part of a team
- an ability to solve problems in a team environment.

Formative Assessment:
Formative feedback through lecturer-led group discussion will be given throughout the development of the group projects which includes demonstration of a prototype software system. Industry seminars are sessions offered by external specialists (subject to availability).

Students who fail to attend these activities, or to complete the summative or formative assessment specified above, will be subject to the procedures defined in the University's General Regulation V, and may be required to leave the University
