Aims

  • To develop knowledge and analytical skills in advanced macroeconomics.

Content

  • Advanced topics are drawn from:
  • growth theory
  • business cycle theory: DSGE Modelling
  • monetary theory
  • and their respective applications

Learning Outcomes

Subject-specific Knowledge:
  • be able to interpret scholarly literature in advanced macroeconomics;
  • have sufficient familiarity with the relevant current academic literature to identify open questions for their own research.

  • Teaching is by lectures and seminars. Learning takes place through attendance at lectures, preparation for and participation in seminar classes, and private study.
  • Formative assessment is by means of one exercise.
  • Summative assessment is by means of a written examination.
