Aims
- To provide students with the ability to critically evaluate the information needs of management for control and for decision making;
- To provide students with a critical understanding of the context of the use of management accounting information for control and an appreciation of the limitations of the information.

- Costs for control and short-term decision making
- Budgeting and performance measurement
- Cash flow forecasting and working capital management
- Long-term corporate decision making and managerial incentives
- Investment appraisal and real options
- Corporate debt management
Learning Outcomes
- Have an advanced knowledge and critical understanding of the information needs of management for control and decision making;
- Have a critical appreciation of the context of the use of that information;
- Have a critical appreciation of recent academic literature in this area and the implications for current management practice.

Modes of Teaching, Learning and Assessment and how these contribute to

- The learning outcomes will be met by a combination of lectures, workshops, case studies and guided reading.
- The assessment of the module, by the written examination, is designed to test the acquisition and articulation of knowledge, and the ability to apply and interpret it in specific contexts.
