Aims

  • The Leadership in a Global Context module is designed to help students acquire the skills, understanding, and mindset crucial in becoming leaders in global business and international, multicultural organisations. Students would be able to develop the skills needed to operate in diverse geographical contexts, groups of individuals, and institutions to mobilise people and resources toward common objectives within a global business context. The module also seeks to develop a deeper understanding of leadership roles in NGOs, businesses, and international corporations. It also strives to equip students with cutting-edge leadership knowledge and research.

Modes of Teaching, Learning and Assessment and how these contribute to the learning outcomes of the module

  • Learning outcomes will be met through a combination of lectures, seminars and guided reading.
  • The individual written assignment is designed to test students' knowledge and understanding of the subject-matter and their ability to apply it to the analysis of specific issues.
  • The group assignment comprises an International Leaders Poster (1000-word poster (100 cm x 75 cm portrait orientation)), printed and presented in a room/place TBC at the Waterside Building.

Group assignment: Outline format (drawing or diagram) and content for the ‘international leaders’ poster before the presentation day.

Students who fail to attend these activities, or to complete the summative or formative assessment specified above, will be subject to the procedures defined in the University's General Regulation V, and may be required to leave the University
