Aims
- To provide students with essential knowledge and skills in quantitative analysis to pursue empirical research.
Content
- Introduction to mathematics, statistics and data fundamentals
- Probability concepts and distributions
- Sampling and the Central Limit Theorem
- Point estimation, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing
- Linear regression analysis and applications
- Other types of regression analysis
Learning Outcomes
Subject-specific Knowledge:
- Have knowledge of both theoretical and practical elements of key principles and methods in quantitative analysis.
Subject-specific Skills:
- Ability to apply quantitative methods to data and interpret results
- Ability to conduct empirical research using knowledge acquired
- Ability to conduct quantitative analysis using appropriate software

- The module is delivered through a combination of lectures and workshops to facilitate the balance of theory and practice.
- The students are assessed through summative and formative assignments. The formative assignment consists of an online quiz containing multiple-choice questions and true/false questions.
